Wiveton Downs


Wiveton Downs is a long ridge of land between Blakeney and Cley, created thousands of years ago by glaciers.

Now a good example of lowland dry acid grassland, it also has lovely views of the Norfolk coast and countryside, and is valuable habitat for many exciting species of flora and fauna, including native bluebells and green hairstreak butterflies.

Tasks here have included gorse clearance, bracken bashing, sowing of heather seed, footpath maintenance, and much more…
